Class P's Assembly 25th January 2019

Class P reminded us to give thanks to the Lord for the special people in our lives. We enjoyed hearing about the speical people the children had been thinking about including parents, grandparents, godparents, teachers, priests, doctors and our firends and classmates. Mrs WIlson thought that the way they helped each other prepare for and perform their assembly was a sign that Class P relally work well together which set a great example to all the other children in our school. Well done Class P!

'Oh Come Let us Adore Him' Assembly 14th December 2018

Class R's Assembly Wednesday 21st March 2018

Class R have been very busy this term learning all about ‘Helping Hands’. During their assembly they shared with us all they had learnt about the people in our lives and in our community that lend us a helping hand in so many different ways including police officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses, teachers, vets, taxi drivers, bus and train drivers, postmen and women, builders, paramedics, our families and Jesus. The key message was that everyone is unique and different but we all need a helping hand!

It was wonderful to hear the pupils in Class R share with us the jobs they woud like to do when they are grown up. We all joined Class R in thanking God for all those who help us and to ask Him to help us to always show kindness to all around us.

Class JI's Assembley: Wednesday 14th March 2018

Many of us know that St.Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland but Class JI reminded us that he is also the patron saint of Nigeria. To mark St. Patrick’s Feast Day, celebrated on 17th March, JI shared with us what they had found out about his life. We learned about how St. Patrick answered God’s call and how he used the shamrock’s three leaves to teach the Irish people about the Holy Trinity. The pupils sang the much loved hymn ‘St. Partick’s Breastplate’ which reminded us that Christ is all aroud us in our waking and our sleeping. They also shared the poem below:

Good St Patrick travelled far to teach God’s Holy Word
And when he came to Erin’s soil a wondrous thing occurred.
He picked a shamrock from the ground and held it in his hand,
That all may one day understand that God was in our land.
The first one for the Father, the second for the Son,
the third one the Holy Spirit…
All three of them in one.

Dream big: READ!

Class JJ’s assembly on Wednesday 7th March was inspired by the pupils’ love of reading. All gathered were treated to a superb action-packed retelling of Peter Pan. It was wonderful to see how much thought and preparation had gone in to the acting, costumes and narration; it is obvious that Class JJ are a great team as everyone had an important role to play. They even managed to weave some tap dancing and music recitals into the performance which was very creative!  The acting was of such a high quality that when Paper Pan pointed to a ship on the horizon, Nursery pupils looked around to see where it was! Thank you Class JJ for  sharing your love of reading with us and reminding us of the most special book of all, the Bible, where the Word of God inspires our daily lives.

Class P's Assembly: Wednesday 31st January 2018

God’s Promise

When you call for help

I will answer ‘Here I am’, and I will help you.

You, in your turn, be ready to help one another.

Be a kind friend and never a bully.

Don’t pick fights and be ready to make friends.

Instead of making fun of someone,

Try to find something good to say.

Share what you have

Especially with people who have little or nothing.

When you act like this everyone will be happy.

You are the light that shines in the dark;

You never know who will be cheered up.

Everyone who acts this way is working with God.

Everyone who acts this way

makes the world a better place.

(based on Isaiah 58:9-11)

Class JI's Assembly: Wednesday 24th January 2018

Class JI's assembly challenged us to be more kind to others. The renactment of Jesus choosing his twelve disciples reminded us that Jesus calls us all to follow Him and spread the Good News through our words and actions . We all  enjoyed the story of the queen and her two selfish brothers (Nursery thought it was hilarious watching the two brothers trying to eat with such long spoons) and were very touched by the heartfelt original poems shared on the theme of community and the violin playing. Thank you JI.
