Our chosen reading scheme is Bug Club, a finely levelled, phonically based reading scheme, which ensures that each child can find a book at exactly the right level for them. The engaging books cover a range of genres and many are filled with children's favourite characters. In the Bug Club Shrek rubs shoulders with Doctor Who, Sarah and Duck sit side by side with Timmy Time and Batman shares a shelf with Wallace and Gromit.

Along with the wide range of quality books the school has invested in for guided reading in class and for home reading, the scheme supports teachers and parents/carers in helping our pupils develop a love of reading and become confident, independent readers.
